Stagecoach are making changes to a number of their bus services due to continuing financial losses on a number of bus routes. Like most bus companies, they have had significant cost increases and their income is not keeping pace. At the same time East Sussex County Council is not in a position to fund more services due to their own budget limitations.

Wealden Bulletin - Proposed cycleway linking Uckfield and Lewes to be explored
A new cycle and pedestrian route which would run alongside the old railway line between Uckfield and Lewes is currently being explored.
Wealden District Council and other partners – including Lewes District Council – are joining forces for the project, which could provide an off-road surfaced route, similar to the existing Cuckoo Trail and Forest Way for walking, cycling and wheeling.
