A significant number of bus service improvements were made in East Sussex from the end of July 2023. These include new weekend services on some routes. Most are funded through East Sussex County Council’s successful bid to UK Government, in support of the Bus Service Improvement Project. East Sussex Highways delivers highways maintenance and improvement schemes on behalf of East Sussex County Council.
The highway network is vital to the economic growth of the County and keeping local communities safe and connected. It is the most valuable publicly owned asset managed by the Council and has a current value of £4.17 billion. The Council is committed to having the best road condition for the investment available, and supports an asset management based approach for the maintenance of the highway network.

East Sussex County Council have recently launched FlexiBus - a new flexible, on demand rideshare service operating across the county. Available in more rural areas of the county where traditional bus services don't quite reach, FlexiBus can take you to meet a friend, to the shops, your nearest town or to a medical appointment.
The cost of a FlexiBus ride is equivalent to a standard bus fare, capped at £2 for a single journey until the end of October or you can buy an adult day pass for £5. As FlexiBus is a ride share service you may pick up or drop of others on your way.

The Herstmonceux Parish Public Conveniences consist of a Ladies, Mens and Accessible toilet with baby changing facility.
To protect the health and well being of our staff, the Public Toilets will be closed during Lockdown periods.

Situated in the heart of the parish service centre.
The Access Road to the recreation ground will be closed to the general public from 16th November 2020 for approx 4 weeks whilst improvement works are being carried out to the carpark, play park and the access road itself.
